The Learning Tools and the Record Sheets support the Scottish Curriculum Guidelines. It consolidates the reading and allows the children to capture their thoughts and ideas using a range of communication styles.

As the children begin to read more widely, the tools will allow them to express opinions and experiences.

The tools in this book will help the child to develop the skills to organise, write and think both creatively and independently.

This book also includes gold, silver and bronze certificates of achievement. These certificates can be gained by the children based on the targets and expectations set by the teacher. On attaining each award, the pupil and the teacher can then set future targets.
